Lillian Rivera has dedicated her career to addressing the needs of LGBTQ youth and is very passionate about how her community has been impacted by HIV/AIDS. Lillian was a fellow of the CDC/ASPH Institute for HIV Prevention Leadership and served on their advisory board. In 2010, she was recognized by the Stonewall Foundation for her community leadership. Lillian has worked as a sexual health educator and supported the development of independent living skills for folks living with HIV. She writes often about parenting LGBTQ youth and the intersections of sexuality, race/ethnicity and class. She is committed to using her voice to ensure Latinas are a visible segment of the LGBT community. She has a BA in Theatre from Rutgers University and a Masters in Public Health from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Her most important role is being mom to Olivia and Luna and wife to Elsa.
